Ms Amel

Amel Christy is a pianist and musician from Jakarta, Indonesia. She earned a Bachelor of Music (BMus) from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA), studying under Dmitri Vorobiev, and a Master of Music (MMus) from Temple University, where she had the opportunity to study with Sarah Buechner.
Amel is a certified Suzuki Piano Instructor and grew up with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) curriculum, earning advanced certificates their exams. Amel has been involved in many musical groups, including accompanying the University of Northern Iowa Men’s Glee Club, performing with the UNI Women’s Choir, and serving as a keyboardist in UNCSA’s production of Bernstein’s works. While at Temple University, she also performed chamber music with her colleagues. She has won several awards, including being named the Audience Favorite at the 2015 UNCSA Concerto Competition and receiving recognition from the Iowa Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Young Artist Piano Competition and the North Carolina MTNA Young Artist Piano Competition. She also participated in Music Fest Perugia, where she had the opportunity to take lessons from Arthur Greene, Jerome Lowenthal, and Natalia Trull.
In addition to her musical pursuits, Amel has expanded her skills with a Master’s in Business Analytics (MSBA) and a Master’s in Management (MM) from Lehigh University, as well as a Data Analytics Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania. She currently works as an Area Manager for Amazon.
