Ms Kirah

Ms. Kirah graduated from Chestnut Hill College with a Bachelors of Music, concentrating in voice. Following a passion for music and helping others, she began her Masters of Music Therapy and Counseling at Immaculata University in May 2021. Currently, she is an intern at Foundations Behavioral Health earning hands on experience in the field. Her first job was as a teaching assistant in a musical theatre class when she was 14! She started teaching voice professionally in 2018 and has developed her methods through studies of human development, vocal pedagogy, and learning theories.

Ms. Kirah sang with the CHC Hill Singers all four years of her undergraduate program and for another 2 years after graduating. She developed a deep knowledge and appreciation for many styles throughout undergraduate and post graduate experiences. Her students have ranged from retirees picking up new hobbies to kiddos singing for the first time. Styles you can expect to hear coming from her lesson rooms include pop, rock, folk, country, broadway, classical, jazz, blues, and even punk or metal! All styles of music have proper technique. It can be an exciting journey discovering it.

Singing in front of people, even just your teacher, can feel scary! In lessons with Ms. Kirah, students can expect to be accepted EXACTLY how they are. There are even sticker rewards for completing practice goals (even the grown ups get stickers.) Starting August of last year, Ms. Kirah began teaching private piano lessons to beginner learners. Piano and voice lessons are both full of music exploration, solid music theory foundations, and proper technique to avoid injury! You don't have to be perfect to sing, you just need to have a voice.

Kirah plans to continue teaching voice and music after she earns her MT-BC (music therapy board certification). Music therapy education has helped her become a better teacher, leader, and role model for her students.
