Mr Griffin
Mr. Griffin teaches drums to students of all ages and skill levels. He believes all drummers,
regardless of their experience, can enjoy connecting with music by building off a foundation of
simple drumming songs. In his approach to teaching the music theory aspects of drumming,
such as drum rudiments, he strives to instill that these concepts are simply tools to help us
understand music; which helps us unlock our own creativity! Mr. Griffin began studying music
at 6 years old, starting on piano and switching to drums at age 10. At Oberlin College and
Conservatory, he studied drums with Billy Hart and Ari Honeig, earning a BA in Jazz Drums and
Psychology. Mr Griffin has been playing live performances since beginning drumming and
looks forward to recording and releasing music with his bands Unto and Sweetbriar. He has
also recorded with artists The Surrealists, Sarah Krohn, and was a member of the Oberlin Jazz
Ensemble and School of Rock Allstars.

Mr Nile
Almost every person on this planet has a favorite food. Many of us love a cheese-pulling, fresh-out-of-the-oven slice of pizza, but from our first bite, we rarely know about the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and olive oil that go into the crust alone.
Much like with the food we eat, we all have our different tastes and approaches to consuming and making music that make us completely unique. Nile’s aim is to provide students with the skills not only to be able to tell what’s in their favorite musical pizzas, but to explore the intellectual and physiological processes that go into creating each sound and ingredient at hand.
Through ear training, style imitation, and experimentation, students will not only get the opportunity to develop their instruments, but will also grow their unique sounds and command over music itself.
A singer-songwriter with over 12 years of experience each in Piano, Voice, and Guitar, Nile studies Studio Composition at West Chester University with a concentration in Voice. His rich background in Choral singing, Contemporary A Cappella, Contemporary Pop bands, Classical Voice/Opera, and Vocal Pedagogy have given him a broad understanding of vocal styles and colors.
Nile was named a Finalist in ‘The Star Vocal Competition’ in 2023 and a Semifinalist in NATS Eastern Division in 2022. In his high school years, he sang in PMEA choirs for 3 years, auditioning into All-State Choir twice.
He also has won several awards for his writing, including ‘Outstanding Arrangement’ at the ICCA Mid-Atlantic Semifinals in 2023 and 1st place in WCU’s Roz Patton Songwriting Scholarship Competition for two years.
